Concrete Poems

Here are four concrete poems from GCAA’s middle school creative writing class. A concrete poem is a poetry form that utilizes all of the elements of poetry along with visual art. The words of the poem form an easily recognized shape. The goal of the poet is to write a poem with a theme that matches a shape. The best concrete poems shift tone and mood as the words move throughout the shape.
